Needle felted sculptures

Needle felting it's felting without water.I use special barbed felting needle to sculpture wool I push the top layer of wool into deeper layers, fiber "stick " to itself without soap and water.
To make one sculpture I have to poke the razor sharp barbed needle in to raw unspin wool thousands of times until the fibers matt together to form a 3D solid felt.
To make clothe for my sculptures I use old wet felting technique

little person from far far away magic forest

I love him.
His head and hands are Super Sculpey , body , legs and feet are Apoxie Sculpt.
I paint his face with acrylic , made shoes from 100% leather ,dress is cotton and felt .

MY Super Sculpey doll

To create sculptures I'm using Super Sculpey , Apoxie Sculpt sometimes paper clay.
My doll head , legs and hands -Super Sculpey and her body is soft material . Her hair is 100% mohair. I paint her eyes and face with acrylic.
Most difficult was to make a dress and shoes. I had to study 18 century fashion,I had to learn all about it including hair style , shoes ,fabric and many other small details.
I love how shoes came out,I spend almost 2 days making them .

My studio

Currently I'm working from my home in small studio.I'm trying to find a bigger place where I could work ,show my work to the public and may be teach , but to have studio in Toronto is very expensive so I have to live it for now:(

My first public show -Cabbagetown 2009

My first public show was Cabbage town festival in 2009.It was a good experience I meet so many creative people and learn a lot about how to sell and how to talk to the customers.I made just a little money but I gain a lot of knowledge
